Review Policy

Hello everyone! Thank you for your interest in having me read/review your book. Please see the guidelines below to see if we can work something out!

I am not currently accepting books for review.

This is due to an increase in my work schedule and the fact that I am a full-time college student on top of that. When I open requests again, I aim to read books in the order I received them in a timely manner and then write an honest review of the book. My reviews are cross-posted on my bookstagram, Amazon, Goodreads, and other sites, upon request. All reviews will be honest and unbiased. I can include synopses, author information, purchase links, and other promotional information upon request.

I am not currently accepting review requests. However, I am able to do promotional posts for books though these are still subject to my personal availability. Promotion-only posts typically do not include a review and do not require me to receive copy of the book. If you would like to inquire about a promotional post (without a review attached), please email laurensboookshelf@gmail.com or use my Contact Form to the right and include contact information. Thanks!

I am happy to report that I accept self-published works.

All inquiries should be emailed to "laurensboookshelf@gmail.com" with the subject line "Review Request." Inquiries should include the book title, author name, publisher, genre, a spoiler free synopsis/Goodreads link, and when the review is needed by.* Please see the genre guidelines below to see if I will accept a book.

*My general policy is to read review books in the order I receive them and review them within 4-8 weeks of receiving a book. I am a full-time college student, work a part-time job, am active in on-campus activities, and have personal relationships that I prioritize. Due to these factors, I ask for this review timeframe so that I may give the book the time and attention it deserves and write a thoughtful, honest review.

Physical copies are accepted and preferred (these include finished copies, advanced reader copies, and manuscripts). I do accept ebooks and e-arcs but only on a case-by-case basis as screens tend to hurt my eyes after long periods of time.
