November 2015 Wrap-Up!

Okay, so my TBR list had 6 books on it and I read 5 books, but two of those books weren't on my list. Whoops. But on the other hand I read more books than last month AND I wrote a novel. That's right, I finished NaNoWriMo!
Here's a link to my NaNo Home Page: http://nanowrimo.org/participants/lauren6498

Anyway, onto the books.
I read half of the books on my TBR pile and 2 that weren't on that list. Let's start WAY back at the beginning of the month.

1. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
    Publication Date: May 7, 2013
    Rating: 4.5/5 Stars

This book tore my heart out. Go see my October Wrap-Up to read about it, because I put this book in that Wrap-Up as well. Mostly because I started it in October and finished it November 1.

2. Twilight: Life & Death by Stephenie Meyer
    Publication Date: October 6, 2015
    Rating: 4.5/5 Stars

I really enjoyed this reimagining of one of my favorite stories. It was really interesting to see the swap of the genders of each character. I found Beau incredibly funny. I will definitely be rereading this in the future. Very thankful I was able to convince my grandmother to splurge on this and get it for me.

3. Magnus Chase: The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan
    Publication Date: October 6, 2015
    Rating: 5/5 Stars

This story really brought the nostalgia back from Percy Jackson and The Heroes of Olympus series. Magnus was so sarcastic and funny that I can just imagine getting along really well with him. And unlike Percy Jackson--who was immediately a skilled fighter and well respected--Magnus was not. It was honestly amazing.

4. Heaven by Alexandra Adornetto
    Publication Date: August 21, 2012
    Rating: 5/5 Stars

-SPOILER ALERT- Okay this little f*cker tore my heart out. I'm not even joking this thing killed me. I was so ready to get into it because of how well Hades ended, and this book was even better than Hades. I've said it before, anyone who's struggling through Halo and wondering if they should finish this trilogy, DO IT. I admit, I wasn't very optimistic after Halo, no matter how much I loved those characters. But this book was amazing. Everything fell into place by the end of the book. And the ending literally killed me. But you wanna know how my feels went? I'll tell you. There was this chapter where everything went to shit more than it already was, about halfway through the book, and I had so many different reactions in that chapter. Here we go.
^ When the fricking people showed up at that one place ^
^ When they were fighting ^
^ When Xavier's friend died protecting someone ^
^ When they f*cking killed Xavier ^
^ When they brought Xavier back to live ^
^ When Satan was then possessing Xavier (that lil' fucktard)

By the end of the book, my message to Alexandra Adornetto looked like this:

But there was a happy ending, so YAY. It was just a HUGE rollercoaster of emotions.

5. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
    Publication Date: September 10, 2013
    Rating: 4.5/5 Stars

Everyone for the past two years has been raving about this book. I've been wanting to read it since it came out, but I only just recently picked it up at the store. And this book drew me in from the beginning. It was a whirlwind of fluffy emotions throughout this book. And from the very first page I was shipping Cath and Levi together.
And now I can continue with the Simon/Baz story in Carry On!!! So excited to pick that up! Ah!

Thanks for reading this Wrap-Up. Don't forget to check out the TBR tab for the books I'm reading in December! xoxo -Lauren
