Unboxing: Fairyloot's "Morally Grey" (February 2023)

This month's box was pretty good. I'm being a bit more selective about boxes this year but was quite interested in this one. I have to say, I think all the items were pretty great and there's only one that I don't think I'll get use out of. The book is beautiful and overall I think this box was a hit.

The first item in this box is a foiled mug themed after From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout that was designed by @avendellart. It features our favorites, Poppy, Casteel, and Kieran. I think the art is rather pretty and I will definitely get use out of this on my JLA shelf. I will say, I think they could stand to make their foiled mugs a bit bolder as I feel like it has a faded look to it in my opinion.

The next item was a foiled art print featuring Jacks and Evangeline from Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber and designed by @rosiethorns88. This artist also has stunning artwork and this is no different. However, I haven't read this book and I don't plan to. If it were a fandom I was interested in, I might like it more but for now I have no use for it. I also don't particularly think an art print is as good of value in a box since they reduced the number of items they include.

Up next was a pencil case designed by @chattynora after These Violent Delights duology by Chloe Gong. This is gorgeous and probably my favorite item in the box so far. I love pouches. I love organizing things into various pouches and boxes. And I love These Violent Delights so that's another plus. I'll definitely get a lot of use out of this one.

The last item was a snow oak pendant designed by @jezhawk. Apparently this is a "reimagined replica" of the pendant in The Black Witch Chronicles by Laurie Forest. I've never read the book but this pendant is definitely fandom-neutral enough at first glance. It's a subtle fandom piece and I definitely think I might potentially get use out of this one.

The tarot cards this month feature characters from Spice Road by Maya Ibrahim. We have Imani as the Ace of Stars and Qyad as the Two of Stars. Once again, absolutely stunning. These were designed once again by @arz28. I'm actually enjoying collecting these cards this time around and I'm glad to have another two added.
The featured book this month was City of Nightmares by Rebecca Schaeffer. I've not read her other series yet but it is on my TBR and this one also sounds quite interesting. This edition is beautiful (though that opinion seems to be in the minor). It has an exclusive cover, digital edges, artwork on the endpages by @avendellart, embossing by @avendellart, and is signed. It's another gorgeous edition to add to my shelves and I hope to read it soon.

Thanks for reading!
xoxo
Lauren
