This month's box was pretty good. I'm being a bit more selective about boxes this year but was quite interested in this one. I have to say, I think all the items were pretty great and there's only one that I don't think I'll get use out of. The book is beautiful and overall I think this box was a hit.

Unboxing: Fairyloot's "Morally Grey" (February 2023)

Unboxing: Fairyloot's "Hidden Worlds" (January 2023)
Here comes the first Fairyloot unboxing of 2023! This box was okay in my opinion and I'm not sure if that's because of the content or because I've been subscribed for over a year now so my standards are a bit higher. That being said, the book is stunning and there are a couple items that I am super excited about.

Unboxing: Fairyloot's "Come One, Come All" (December 2022)
Another month, another Fairyloot box to share with you all. This is the last box I have to unbox from 2022 and we ended the year on a good one. Before I get into the unboxing for this month, I'm just incredibly excited to see what 2023 holds for Fairyloot. If the boxes continue being as well put together, it's definitely going to be a good year.
The first item in this month's box was a face towel designed by @blanca.design and inspired by The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I've not yet read this one but it is on my TBR and I've heard nothing but good things about it. I also think the design is neutral enough to use the towel without needing to have read it first. I'm not sure how practical it is for me, though, as I'm pretty particular about my face towels. It might get used for something else, though.
The next item was a set of carousel bookends designed by @jezhawk. These are fandom neutral and just themed after circuses and magic and whatnot. It's a gorgeous design and these one currently look like they'll hold up a bit straighter than the previous bookends I got from Fairyloot. I'll definitely find a use for these once we move and I'm looking forward to finding them a home.
The next item was a book sleeve designed by @kimcarlika_art and inspired by Caraval by Stephanie Garber. This is another great quality book sleeve from Fairyloot and I really enjoy the design. If I'm being honest, I much prefer designs like this where it's more of a pattern than a character fan art. I'll definitely be happy to add this to my book sleeve collection.
The last item was the next two installments in the collectible foiled mythology bookmarks designed by @gracezhuart. These two feature Aphrodite and Ares from Greek mythology. They're absolutely stunning and I'm so excited to add them to the bookmark set. I've been really enjoying collecting these as they're quite beautiful. Plus, this set of bookmarks are so soft to the touch that it's great to just hold them honestly.
The tarot cards for this month were themed after Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan and designed by @arz28. We have Lei as The Sun card and Wren as The Moon card. Once again, these are absolutely stunning. I've not yet read this series but I do own all the books and plan on (hopefully) binging them this year. We're almost at a year of this new deck as well which is quite exciting.
The book for this month was Cruel Illusions by Margie Fuston. This edition has an exclusively redesigned cover, digital sprayed edges (that are stunning), artwork on the endpages and foil on the cover designed by @kirisy_art, and is signed by the author. The character art on the back of the author letter was also designed by @kirisy_art. This edition is absolutely stunning and I am pretty excited about another standalone. Part of why I've struggled reading series lately is because of the time commitment so I'm hoping to embrace some more standalones in 2023. Hopefully, I'll soon have a shelf for just beautifully designed standalones.
Overall, this box was well done. I like all of the items and I think I'll use all except the towel. I'm also quite excited to get into this book (hopefully) this year. Is it my favorite box I've ever gotten? No. But I still think it's a good amount for the money I spent. I'm intrigued by January's announcement so we'll see how that one turns out. I also think I'm enjoying the YA subscription more than the Adult one for now.

Unboxing: Fairyloot's "The Witching Hour" (November 2022)
After taking a month off and then the November box being late, it's been a while since I've had a Fairyloot unboxing to do. But my box has finally arrived and I am beyond excited about it. November's theme was The Witching Hour and I was excited from the moment I read the theme reveal. Let's just dive in!
The first item we have is a foiled mug designed by @avendellart and themed after Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco. I'll be honest, I haven't yet finished this trilogy but I am looking forward to it in the future. This mug is nice and pretty, though I won't be using it for drinking anything. I'm not a big coffee or tea person and I only really do hot chocolate when it's cold. I mainly use mugs, especially bookish ones, for holding pens, bookmarks, or other trinkets. This one will definitely be beautiful on my Kerri Maniscalco shelf in the future.
Up next is the next collectible letter opener designed by @jezhawk and themed after Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin. I like the design of this, though I'm not sure how practical it is as a letter opener. I love Serpent & Dove but haven't yet read the rest of the series, so I don't know what the significance of the sword is. Either way, It'll hopefully look nice with the rest of the letter openers.
Then we got a book review notebook designed by @chattynora. It has a cottagecore/witchy theme and I think it's absolutely beautiful. I actually bought a reading planner this year, so I'm glad this isn't a planner and instead is just a notebook for book reviews. I'll probably start using it right away to track all of the books I'm reading (especially those that I don't write full reviews for on my blog).
The last item was a spellbook pin designed by @no0nedesigns. It's not themed after anything except witchy-ness and spells. This is a beautiful pin and I'm definitely going to be adding it to my pin banner when I get all my stuff out of storage. I'm a big fan of small enamel pins and this one is right up my alley.
The tarot cards designed by @arz28 this month feature characters from The Stardust Thief by Chelsea Abdullah. We have Loulie as The Star and Mazen as The Tower. I'm loving the tarot cards this deck and this month is no exception. I realized I put the other tarot cards in storage while we apartment hunt so I can't put them all together just yet but I'm very excited to see how they all look together soon.
The book this month is The Ones We Burn by Rebecca Mix. This edition has an exclusive cover, ombre sprayed edges, a reversible dust jacket, artwork on the endpages, foil embossing on the hardcover (all designed by @carnemia), and a bookplate. I've been interested in this book for years so I was pretty excited when I saw that Fairyloot was doing an exclusive edition. I will say I was hoping for some nicer edges as I find Fairyloot's ombre edges lacking most of the time but otherwise this edition is quite nice.
Overall, I'm quite happy with this month's box. I liked every item and have plans for the majority of them. The book is also one that I was originally going to be preordering anyway so I've not really spent that much extra this month getting this box.
I will say, what I'm most looking forward to in December is the items and less the book, though I'm still interested in it. As we're halfway through December, I anticipate getting this box rather soon which will mean I might have a second unboxing to post this month. The December box will also be my one-year anniversary of being a subscriber again and I'm eager to see how it stacks up compared to the last year.
Thanks for reading!
xoxo

March 2023 Book Haul
Another month gone and now we're already heading into quarter two of the year. This month was a pretty good month in terms of reading and, depending how you look at it, either a great or bad month for book hauls. I'm trying to cut back on spending on books, so this month was a definite failure in that regard. However, I am also incredibly excited about all the books I got this month. I got thirteen this month, some preorders and some impulse purchases. It'll take a bit to get through them all so let's dive in!

February 2023 Book Haul
Even though I only read three books in February, I hauled quite a bit more than that. However, a good amount of them were books I ordered literally months and months ago that got delayed or weren't going to ship until now. So it was still a relatively cheap month in terms of buying books. I got ten books this month and I'm excited about all of them, so let's just dive in.
The first book I got was the Fairyloot edition of Spice Road by Maya Ibrahim. This was in the January YA box and it's one of the most beautiful editions I think they've done. This edition has an alternate cover, artwork on the dust jacket, embossing, stenciled edges, artwork on the endpages, and is signed. I truly just think they've out done themselves on this one.
The next book I got was A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson. It was on sale so I figured I'd just snatch it when it was so cheap. I've seen this book everywhere on TikTok and in all the bookstores. I'm not a huge thriller/mystery fan when it's just that and not mixed with fantasy or romance or anything but I do like it in moderation. I think mainly because I don't like being too scared. YA mysteries tend to be a bit better for me because of that so I'm definitely intrigued to see what the hype is about for this one.
The next book I got on sale was Hook, Line and Sinker by Tessa Bailey. I got the first book in this romance duology when it was on sale so I'm pretty happy to have gotten this one on sale as well. I've read Tessa Bailey before and enjoyed it so I'm eager to read some of her more recent stuff that seems to be super popular. I might read this one over the summer since it definitely seems like a summer read.
The last book I got on sale was The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston. I've not really seen much about this other than the cover floating around but when I read the description it sounded right up my alley. It's a romance but seems to be a bit more than that and it sounds like it'll be quite funny. I'm not sure when I'll pick it up but it's definitely on my radar for this year.
Up next, I got Chain of Thorns by Cassandra Clare. This is the third in the Last Hours trilogy, part of the Shadowhunters world. I've been reading Cassandra Clare for over ten years now and it still blows my mind a bit that she's still releasing Shadowhunter books. It also excites me that there's still so much of this world that I haven't read yet. I did order the American first edition to match my entire collection instead of the weird UK edition and it only took a little longer to arrive to me.
Then I finally got my preorder of the Fairyloot edition of Heart of the Sun Warrior by Sue Lynn Tan. This is the matching edition to the Fairyloot edition of Daughter of the Moon Goddess, which is quite literally one of the most gorgeous books I own. I ordered this ages ago and it finally shipped recently and then I had to wait to get it from a family member's house so it took a while. But it's now on the shelf next to the first book and it is beautiful. Now I think it's time for me to finally read this duology.
Up next was (finally) the November Illumicrate book which was The Luminaries by Susan Dennard. This edition is absolutely stunning, with embossing and a fancy cover and stenciled edges. I am a big fan of Susan's books and I was there for the Twitter adventure that this book started as so it's quite exciting to see this book finally in my hands. This edition was stunning and well worth the long wait for it and I can't wait to dive in.
Then I got probably my most anticipated release of the year, City of Souls and Sinners by Kayla Edwards. This is the sequel to City of Gods and Monsters which was my favorite book of 2022. I've already read this one and absolutely loved it. This world and these characters are so much fun to read about and I loved every moment of being back in it. I cannot wait for the next book, though I know that it's going to be a long ways away.
Lastly, I finally got my copies of the Illumicrate editions of House of Earth and Blood and House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J. Maas. These editions are absolutely gorgeous and I'm obsessed with them. They have stenciled edges, alternate dust jackets, gorgeous embossing, illustrated endpages, and a ribbon bookmark. Plus, the cover of the first book now matches the font style of the sequel which is quite exciting. These editions are beautiful and I'm so happy to add them to my Sarah J. Maas collection.

October 2022 Wrap-Up + Haul
Well, October was another underwhelming reading month. I had hoped to read a bunch of spooky books, get through some newly hauled books, and just have a better reading month than September. However, I only read a single book again. I struggled a lot with reading due to our current living/working/commuting situation. However, I've already read two books in November so I'm hopeful this upcoming month will be a turning point in my reading year. Who knows, maybe I'll get quite a bit more in before the year is concluded.
I also only hauled four books this month, which was good for my bank account and I honestly was too stressed to think about buying books. I am really excited about all of the books that I got this month, though, and can't wait to talk about them.

Title: A Lair of Bones
Author: Helen Scheuerer
Rating: 4 // 5 stars
Review TK
The first book that I got this month was my Fairyloot edition of The Blood Traitor by Lynette Noni. I ordered this all the way back in April (and was lucky enough to snag a matching stenciled edge) and it finally shipped! I knew it wasn't going to ship until around this time but the wait was still quite long. Now that I finally have my copy of the third book in this trilogy, though, I can binge read it all at once!
Then I picked up The River of Silver by S.A. Chakraborty. This is a collection of stories that is a companion to the Daevabad trilogy. The stories are set before, during, and after the trilogy (I think) and I'm so excited to give these a go on my next read through. I love this world so having more time with characters I love is going to be quite exciting, I think.
The third book I got was my Illumicrate edition of The Atlas Paradox by Olivie Blake. This is the sequel to The Atlas Six (which I've still not read) and is absolutely stunning. I love the edges and that it has a completely redesigned cover. I can't wait to put it on the shelf with the first book and see how they look together. Hopefully I'll also enjoy reading them.
The last book I got in October was my Fairyloot edition of These Twisted Bonds by Lexi Ryan. I ordered this even farther back in February and was lucky enough to snag the stenciled edge version and have no issues with the shipping. This is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to finally finish this duology now that I have this. It came out during the summer but wasn't scheduled to ship until now so I'm just glad the wait is finally over for it.
Thanks for reading!
xoxo

Unboxing: Fairyloot's "Farewell My Love" (September 2022)
Another month, another Fairyloot. From the moment they announced this box, I was excited for it. It shipped quite early this month, which was a real treat, and I was so excited when it arrived. They announced there would be a blanket in this box, as well as the last trinket dish in their collectible series. Additionally, this is the first month of there only being four items instead of five. To be honest, I didn't really notice. Between the bigger, high quality items, tarot cards, extra prints and bookmarks, and the book, I think we still get a lot for our money. I really liked this box (it was one of their better ones I've gotten recently) so let's just dive in!
The first item was a set of botanic themed coasters designed by @stellabookishart. These are quite pretty and I do think they're a useful item. I like that they're fandom neutral as I can definitely use them around our home. However, I am not quite sure when I'll get use out of them as I have a lot of coasters but not enough space to need that many just yet.
Up next was the final trinket dish in the collectible series designed by @arz28. This one features Cardan from The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. These dishes are gorgeous but I'm not sure if I'll get much use out of them. I have other trinket dishes but I tend to prefer covered storage to prevent dust on things. Also, I've not read any of the books that are featured with the trinket dishes, though all are on my TBR. In that, maybe on day I'll be able to display these on bookshelves when my stuff is out of storage but for now these will stay boxed away with other book merch.
Then there was a tea tin inspired by this month's book, Belladonna by Adalyn Grace, that was designed by @chattynora. It is another beautiful tea tin that Fairyloot seems to really enjoy including in their boxes. I think this is the fourth tea tin I own from them now? They're pretty cute and I like that they have lids so I can keep dust out of things. I think I'll store various bookish merch items in them or I might even use them for stationary stuff.
The last full item was a blanket designed by @afterblossom_art inspired by Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim. This and the book of the month were the main reasons that I got this box. I've gotten Fairyloot blankets in the past and I was quite excited. I haven't yet unrolled this fully as we're in the process of moving, but I've seen pictures of it online and it's beautiful. Plus, it's super soft and fluffy. It'll definitely come in handy this winter when it's too expensive to turn on our heating.
The tarot cards this month were also themed after this month's book, Belladonna. We have Signa as The Hanged Man and Death as the Death card. These, like usual, are beautiful. I'm actually really enjoying collecting the tarot cards this time around. I say this every month but I really like that the tarot cards are themed after books they include in their boxes.
This month's book was Belladonna. It came with an exclusive cover, stencil sprayed edges, artwork printed on the hardcover designed by @taratjah, artwork on the endpages by @monolimeart, and was signed. I've read books by Adalyn Grace and really enjoyed them, so I was definitely looking forward to her newest book. I was quite excited that it was going to be in this box and this edition is stunning. I much prefer this darker, purple themed edition over the standard UK edition. Plus, the edges are stunning. The art print was designed by @kudriaken.
Overall, I loved this box. I think Fairyloot have really upped their game the last couple years and I've enjoyed all their boxes since I resubscribed last December. I will be skipping all subscriptions in October, as I will be in the process of moving, but I am eagerly looking forward to my next box in the future (hopefully November). I think my favorite items were the blanket and the book for sure.
