December/Christmas 2017 Book Haul!!

Hello everyone! How are you all doing on this glorious day? Not only is this post going to be my December Book Haul, but it's also my final book haul of 2017! It's crazy for me to think that 2017 passed by so fast. I'm posting a little life update in a few days that will talk more about my non-bookish adventure of a year, but for now, we're here to talk about the books I got in December.

Now, December has a larger haul for me, mostly because I had more money, I traded a lot more books, and because Christmas came and went. I got a few books for Christmas and a few that I traded for or were sent for review. In the end, I picked up 8 physical books, 8 ebooks, and 4 nerdy items! Let's go ahead and jump right in!

~~~
The first physical book that I received this month was a signed copy of Artemis by Andy Weir.
My friend group at college did a Secret Santa gift swap and my Santa got me this! I was blown away because I've been wanting this book for a little while now and I ended up with a signed copy! For those of you who don't know, Andy Weir wrote The Martian, which was a book that just blew me away for many different reasons. Now, we have another book from Weir which was pitched to me as a heist on the moon. I can't wait to get into it in 2018!
The second book I picked up this month was an arc of Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings.
This is the first in Sasha and Lindsay's The Androma Saga and I am beyond excited to have this book in my hands. I've heard nothing but great things and I have high expectations going into this book. Hopefully, it doesn't disappoint! I mean, you can't really go wrong with an all-female crew of space pirates, now can you? I got it through #arcsfortrade on Twitter, which is a hashtag that I definitely recommend all readers check out!
The third book I got was an arc of Furyborn by Claire Legrand.
This is probably the book that I am most excited about in this entire haul because it doesn't actually release until May 22. The moment I read the synopsis I knew I wanted to read this book immediately. The fact that I finally have an arc in my hands and don't have to wait until May is amazing. This is a high fantasy told from two timelines and involves magic and so many amazing things. I can't wait to read it, possibly in January! I, again, got this through #arcsfortrade on Twitter!
The next book I got was the signed special UK tour edition of Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas.
It was not an easy quest to get my hands on this book. I, as an avid Sarah fan, collect the UK editions as well as the US as I find them to be equally as stunning. When I found out that there was going to be a special edition only for those who attend the UK tours, I was intrigued, but figured it would just be fan art that we already have in the US editions. But then it was announced that it would have sprayed blue edges and I knew that I had to get my hands on a copy! Luckily for me, one of my friends from my graduating class was going to Uni in London when Sarah was touring and graciously took my ticket and picked up the book for me, then brought it home on Christmas break. It's stunning and I'm so happy to finally have it in my hands!
The fifth book I got this month was The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli.
This is a book that I've had my eye on since before its release, but sadly had to cancel my preorder before it came out due to me being a broke college student with no job and a tiny allowance who was trying to save up to buy Christmas presents. Then Christmas came and I received it from my dad! I'm so happy to have it in my hands and hopefully will be able to get to it within the early months of 2018! Plus, the cover is absolutely stunning!
The sixth book I got was The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson.
I got this book for Christmas from my Grandma (shoutout: I love you!). I've been wanting this book for quite a long time. It's actually been on my book wish list for years but I began to really want it after my friend from college was raving about how it was one of his favorite series. So, of course, I asked for it for Christmas. It's a huge book (totaling at 1,001 pages of actual story) and I am beyond excited. And, if I love it, the next two books in the series have also been released!
~
The seventh book I picked up was The Book Thief (Special Anniversary Edition) by Markus Zusak.
I've been interested in this book for a while simply because I've only heard amazing things about it. I know a lot of people love it and it's apparently very heart wrenching, which is just my speed. My sister got it for me for Christmas and I'm so excited to have it in my hands! I can't wait to read it in 2018. Plus, this is just a simply stunning edition of a book that I'm beyond happy to have on my shelf.
This last book I actually got at the beginning of the month but forgot to talk about it: an arc of The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon.
I had an arc that I was willing to get rid of and decided that since I loved this series so much that I would trade the book I had for this one. A great decision if I do say so myself. I just finished this book's predecessor in December and am so excited to continue on with this one! The last one just blew me away and I don't know if my heart can handle this one, but I'm going to read it anyway!
~~~

The first ebook that I got this month was Three Trials by Kristy Cunning.
This is the second book in The Dark Side series and I loved it. I kinda fell in love with this story after reading the first book in November, and I'm so happy that the second released so soon after. I've already finished this story and you can find my thoughts in my December Wrap-Up here.

~

The second ebook I got was an arc of Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian.
This is the first arc that I've ever gotten from Netgalley and I'm so excited to read it! It's on my immediate TBR for January and I can't wait. I knew it was a long shot when I requested it, and I definitely didn't think that I'd get it, but I can't wait to read and review it now that I was proved wrong. Also, the cover is absolutely stunning, isn't it?

~

The third ebook I picked up was the Falling For Them: Volume 3 anthology by a variety of authors.
This is a collection of 7 reverse harem stories from different authors all compiled together into one anthology. This is the third volume of this anthology (sadly, I missed the second one before it no longer became available to buy) and I'm so excited. I have the first volume but not the second. I think that this anthology series is a great way to test out new authors' writing styles or find new series for a low price. Also, if you miss the anthology, all the ebooks publish on their own after the anthology is removed! I'm excited to have this in my library and I can't wait to dive in!

~

The next five ebooks that I picked up were books 2 through 6 of the Executive Toy series. In order, the books I got were Professional Sin, Dangerously Big, Trickiest Job, Dirtiest Lie, and Forbidden Fix, all by Cleo Peitsche.
I allow my friends to share my kindle account with me and we made the decision to go ahead and buy the rest of this series. I'm currently on book 5 and really enjoying it. I wouldn't say that these are the best books ever written, but the smut is great and there's just enough plot to be enjoyable and addicting.

The first nerdy item that I got this month was this exclusive Books and Swords Book Sleeve from the November FairyLoot box! I didn't actually get the box myself, but I loved the book sleeve and was able to find someone willing to sell it to me. My collection of book sleeves is really starting to grow, so stay tuned for a comparison and review post. This sleeve is very well made and a good size, as well as waterproof! That's something that I don't have in a sleeve yet so I'm excited. Plus, the design is so freaking cute!!

~

The next item that I got was a t-shirt for Christmas that says "To Read or Not To Read...What a Stupid Question." It's very soft and comfortable. I quite adore it.

~

The next thing I got was this set of Harry Potter Page Clip Bookmarks in my Christmas stocking! They're so cute and I don't know if I want to use them for fear of destroying them! Still, they're adorable and I'm so happy to have them in my HP collection!

~

The next nerdy item that I got was a Christmas gift from my best friend: a mini personal library kit! I'm in love with it. It's so cute and it's definitely going to come in handy for all my bookstagram pictures.

~

Lastly, my mom got me the Deathly Hallows charm bracelet from the new Alex and Ani collection and I'm in love! She got me and all my sisters/step-sisters one last year and I love mine from last year. When I saw that Alex and Ani had released a Harry Potter Collection, I was so excited and kind of hoping to get one of the pieces. Low and behold, Christmas time came and my mom and stepdad had gotten it for me! I'm in love. It's simplistic yet beautiful, and also inconspicuous enough that people can't easily tell how nerdy I am!

Thanks for reading everyone! Here's to amazing new 2018 book releases and stacks of newly bought books in the new year!
xoxo
