Goals for 2018!

Hello everyone! I originally wasn't going to write a list of goals because I don't believe in New Year's Resolutions, but rather Resolutions in general, but I decided today that there was a lot that I want to accomplish and it will be easier to do so if I have a whole audience holding me accountable. So I have come up with a list of 11 goals that I want to aim for in 2018. Not all of them are big goals but there are a few that are going to be challenging. Let's jump right in!

My first and foremost goal is to read 100 books throughout the year. I really want to reach this goal. I made it in 2016, but I only barely hit 60 books in 2017. I don't feel like I had a productive reading year and I feel somewhat disconnected from reading simply because I wasn't able to read as much. So, therefore, I reinstated my 100 book goal and I am determined to beat it!

Secondly, I want to reach 1,500-2,000 instagram followers. I'm currently at 800 so I definitely think this is doable, especially if I post more often than I currently do. Therefore, I think that this goal is definitely doable, and I may even be able to surpass it!

Thirdly, I want to write 100k words of a novel. I'm not going to say I want to finish a novel, because I might want it to be longer than 100k words, but I think that this is a good starting goal. Especially if I spread it over the course of an entire year. That way, it's only a little less than 8,500 words per month, which is extremely doable since I've written that much in a day before. It's more a matter of trying to continually write and not just give up after a certain amount of time.

Fourthly, I would like to hit 40,000 blog views by the end of the year (not whatever # I have now + 40k views, just 40k views total). I think that this is an extremely doable thing, especially since I've gotten over 10,000 views just within the past few months. That being said, my blog is growing and I am putting more time and effort into it than I have in the past so I think that I can definitely reach this goal.

Fifth, I want to save up enough money to buy myself a new camera and revamp my YouTube channel. I'm currently a good portion of the way there in my savings and I'm hoping that within the next couple of months I have the self-control to not buy anything so that I can buy my camera instead. I already have a camera that I could use for YouTube but it doesn't have a flip-out screen and most of the time it stops recording randomly, so I would really like a camera that doesn't do that. I also have a faster computer now, so editing won't take as long as before. I also know that a new camera would be beneficial to my Instagram account in taking sharper, better images.

Lastly, I want to go to the gym 3 to 4 times a week. I think that this is extremely doable considering I have a strong group of friends at college who all like going to the gym. I want to get back into shape before water polo season starts and, while I'm not ashamed of my body, I'd like to lose a few pounds this year.

Well, those are my goals for 2018! Let's hope that I can achieve them!
xoxo
